Shrouded by darkness and mystery, little is known of the character Erasmus. We shalt describe him as a man, however his unnatural stature of height and seemingly little change of physical age over the decades has incited debate amongst many. Some even consider whether he is human at all, questioning his appearance to be of possible Demon in disguise amongst men.

Erasmus strives for efficiency. Avoiding small talk, he often resides in the background observing from the shadows. Worthless words are a waste of precious time; it can be said that when he has something to say, it is always short, loud and strictly to the point. Some would also argue that when Erasmus has something to say, it is of importance and one would be wise to sit up and take note.

Not easily impressed by any man or woman, if one should be fortunate enough to be praised by Erasmus, they ought to consider it a very rare occurrence, or perhaps even an honour.

So what do we actually know about Erasmus and his past?
He first appeared on the scene as the prison keeper for Usul, when Usul took the position of Judge for a realm now long since gone.

Erasmus quickly became Usul's protector and advisor, although co-conspirator would be a far more apt description. We shall attempt to make this a written review of Erasmus rather than Usul, even though Usul played an influential role in events. The opposite is likely to be more true however; It seems clear that it was Erasmus who played the influential role upon Usul. When Erasmus showed Usul the secret lower dungeons, they discovered 'The Book of Zraath'. Usul thought he had discovered it, when in reality coercion was at play. Erasmus intended for Usul to find the treasure. Erasmus had since been covertly manipulating Usul for many years since that moment until the time of Usul's passing.

There is likely a connection between Erasmus and the Demon Lord Zraath. It is even rumoured the Halfbreed race (mix of human and monster beasts) is a product of Erasmus, Usul and Zraath, but cannot be confirmed officially. Usul became a follower of Akkan during the last Demon invasion of Beluaterra; although a supporter of Usul, Erasmus and Akkan did not see eye to eye. Akkan even appeared uncomfortable in the presence of Erasmus.
What does this imply? Perhaps there is a separate war between Demon factions taking place beneath the veil?

In summary, Erasmus has an agenda as yet unknown to anyone except Usul... or perhaps Herbert the Halfbreed has some knowledge?
