Region Details

Description

The region of Ulitsa, under the goverment of Barca is bordered by the regions Wurzburg to the north-west, Masatodan directly north, Twainwood to the north-east, Gallaecia to the south-east, while the south-west is complete coastline.

Local folklore in the region is strong and despiteĀ  efforts from the churces, there is still a strong pagan belief, this paganism is the foundation for many tales in the region, including the sea dragons which prowl the coast, which also leads to the crest of Ulitsa,a dragon, Laeire the Red.

There are three estates in Ulitsa, Westbourn,Eastbourn and Newcastle. Large amounts of time and gold were put into the building and construction of these townships. As their names suggests Westbourn is west and Eastbourn is east. Newcastle is roughly in the centre of Ulitsa, while there are many dirt roads throughout Ulitsa, the townships are all linked with a well managed road. This road branches out to Twainwood and Wurzburg for trade.

The people of Ulitsa are a proud, peaceful hardy folk, however they hold grudges and there are many old blood fueds over matters long forgotten. The strong pagan influences have lead to a near natural mistrust of anyone from the Marwood, because of this the locals inhabit the surrounding grasslands. While the wealthy and the immigrants live in the townships. Recent events with Aurvandil have lead to an even deeper distrust of 'outlanders'.However, the people are still friendly and the inns offer cold mead and a warm bed to any weary traveller.

I write this many years later, Aurvandil no longer exists, Senator Shalk Morlork has left the realm, the estate of Westbourn is now Passchendaele, Eastbourn is known as Ingelmunster, and the Lord's estate of Newcastle is known as De Kasselberg. Senator Childerik De Merovech succeded Shalk Morlork as Lord of the lands of Ulitsa.
